The stories of I'm Afraid of Americans are set in a high school in Los Angeles County in the 1980s. They show students, teachers and support staff busy with daily details, but also living in the history, geography, and dislocations of their time. Join us for an reading and signing with M. F. McAuliffe is an Australian writer who has lived in Portland since 1992. She co-founded Portland-based, multi-lingual Gobshite Quarterly with R. V. Branham and they co-founded Reprobate / GobQ Books. She continues at both imprints as commissioning / contributing editor.
